DAVIS, Okla. -- A former Davis High School English teacher who is accused of an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old student was arrested late Tuesday afternoon.

Cassandra White, 34, faces four counts of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor using technology, a criminal felony.

White was taken into custody in Davis at 5 p.m. and transferred to the Murray County Jail in Sulphur. Her initial request for bond was denied.

Davis police began their investigation in November after the school called to report a possible inappropriate relationship that a parent had alerted them to.

Court records confirmed that White had filed for a marriage license with the student in Cleveland County.

KTEN is not naming the student, who is a sophomore at Davis High School.
