TISHOMINGO, Okla. -- As deadly wildfires sweep across Oklahoma, some Texoma FFA students are working to help farmers and ranchers in the fire zone.
The Milburn and Mill Creek FFA chapters teamed up to collect supplies and funds for wildfire victims.
The drive was the idea of the Mill Creek FFA. They wanted to help a cause that was very important to their organization. They are gathering fencing supplies, livestock supplies, and basic needs of Oklahoma ranchers and farmers.
They have seen some community support, but they urge more people to come out and donate items like water for the firefighters and cash for the fire victims.
Monetary donations can be made at any Landmark Bank branch; just mention the Johnston County Cattleman account.
Items can be donated at Milburn and Mill Creek schools and at Johnston County Feed or Southern Select Feeds in Tishomingo.
The relief drive ends Thursday night. On Friday, the collection will be taken to Woodward, Oklahoma.
