DENISON, Texas -- Less than 48 hours after a Denison shooting that took the life of 35-year-old Kyle Williams, the prime suspect is in custody.

Manuel Wise, 31, was arrested late Friday night as Sherman police were making routine room checks at a Texoma Parkway motel.

"We are certainly happy about that," said Denison police spokesman Lt. Mike Eppler. "Investigators and Texas Rangers and also our patrol officers as well, they've put in a lot of hours on this, it's almost been no stop working on it."

Williams' body was found Thursday morning at the Tower Homes apartment complex.

Wise was found hiding in Room 158 as an unregistered guest at the Sherman motel.

"He did give a false name, and the name he gave was a relative," Eppler said. "That relative also had an outstanding warrant, so he was arrested on that, and brought to the Grayson County jail."

Wise was charged with first degree murder and also for the three other outstanding warrants for burglary and theft in Grayson County. Bond was set at $1 million.
