GAINESVILLE, Texas -- Gainesville police are asking for help in tracking down the armed bandit who held up the City Credit Union on Monday.

Police say an older white man, six feet tall with short gray hair, came in to the office at 406 North Grand Avenue just before 4 p.m. and pulled a gun.

The robber wore a black hat with stripes and purple shirt. He was last seen running north from the credit union.

Investigators supplied a photo of a red Volkswagen sedan that may have been used by the suspect.

Officials did not disclose the amount of money that was taken.
