GAINESVILLE, Texas -- A Verizon store in Gainesville was the target of a gun-toting bandit Thursday evening.

An employee told police that a man wearing a curly brown wig and long brown beard came in to the business in the 900 block of East U.S. Highway 82 around 7:30 p.m. He pulled out a silver semi-automatic handgun and demanded cash and phones.

Police said he man put the phones in a blue bag and then used zip ties to restrain the employee before fleeing on foot.

Officers who were looking for the suspect located the bag filled with phones, which were returned to the store.

The suspect, who remains at large, was described as a white male wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans.
