DAVIS, Okla. -- Davis police say they've solved a weekend burglary.

Employees at the Boom-a-rang Diner on West Main Street came to to work Sunday morning and noticed one safe was gone; the other had been broken into.

Almost $8,000 in cash was missing.

Police said they recovered the missing safe in a nearby creek.

"On Monday night, our narcotics canine officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle where three individuals were arrested," police Chief Dan Cooper said. "One of the individuals that was arrested was on our suspect list on the Boom-a-rang break-in."

Cooper said the unnamed suspect likely had close ties with the restaurant, but did not confirm whether the suspect was an employee.
