Salvation Army Angel Trees giving children a Merry Christmas

GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- A non-profit is making sure every child has a gift under the Christmas tree, but they need your help.

The Salvation Army has set up Angel Trees all over Grayson County giving  you the opportunity to give back to a child in need.

All you have to do is go to a business that has the Angel Tree, pick up a tag with the child’s name, age and wish list. Then buy one of those items on the list.

All gifts should be returned to that tree or the Salvation Army by December 11th.

"Usually when people see a child that's sitting on a tree by itself, or they see others have been taken, it compels them to want to take another child, or compels them to see what it's all about, and once they start looking at the tag it make them connected to that child," said Major Andrea Ellis with the Salvation Army in Grayson County.

Organizers say nearly 900 angels need a gift this year.

The trees are set up at the Midway Mall, the Walmart in Denison, Pop’s diner in Sherman and many others.
