UPDATE: Man arrested after manhunt in Atoka County

ATOKA COUNTY, OK – Deputies in Atoka County say they arrested Naaman McCoy late Thursday night.

After an hours long manhunt, they say they found the 27-year-old on Hill Street in Atoka.

He's accused of stealing two vehicles and assaulting an off-duty law enforcement officer.

Deputies say Thursday morning they were searching for him after he stole a van from Tushka. They later recovered the vehicle, but didn’t find him.

Hours later, authorities say he assaulted an off-duty officer on Halfback Road in Atoka County and took off in his red Toyota Tundra. The officer wasn’t hurt.

Deputies say McCoy ditched that vehicle too when he crashed it on the Boggy Creek Bridge just north of Atoka.

They say he fled the scene on foot.

Atoka police officers, Oklahoma State Troopers and several other agencies assisted in the search.
