Family & friends mourn the loss of loved one after deadly ATV crash

Posted:

GRAYSON COUNTY, TX- A deadly crash involving an ATV has friends and family in Grayson County mourning the sudden loss of a husband, father and close friend.

"It's a loss for all of us. A hole in our heart. Like I said we won't be able to replace," said family friend Dedrea Higginbotham.

35 year old Jesse Amberson had a passion for riding four wheelers and dirt bikes.

"He loved being outdoors. He and his kids had dirt bikes and our wheelers. They went to ride cross country," said Higginbotham.

Saturday night while Amberson was riding, tragedy struck. Friends say he lost control of his ATV on Key Road. Troopers say the ATV rolled. Amberson died from his injuries.

"We have a hole in our heart. Jesse had a special place in his heart for all of us. All you had to do is pick up the phone and call him. He'd be there to help," said Higginbotham.

Friends say they want Amberson to be remembered for his good heart. And more importantly the love he had for his four kids.

"He would take them to work with him. Spend time with them. He was crazy about his kids," said Higginbotham.

Amberson was more like family to many. They say there's no one like Jesse.

"I know people talk about good people all the time, but Jesse had a good heart. Deep down he was a very good person," said Higginbotham.

Now the family is leaning on the love and support from those who know them best.

"It's going to take the whole community to help them through this. I don't know  that you can ever get through it, but it's going to take all of us. Family, friends; everybody," said Higginbotham.

The family has not yet been able to make funeral arrangements.

    TMC launches new neuro-intervention suite

DENISON, TX -- Treating neurological conditions like stroke, blood clots, and ruptured brain aneurysms is all about time. Vivek H. Tank, MD, an Interventional Neurologist on TMC's medical staff said, "Prior to having this room installed here, we had to ship the patients down to the other hospitals by helicopter. That was delaying treatment times by at least an hour and a half. So ninety minutes extra time where the brain was starved of oxygen leads to poorer outcomes."...More >>
