SOTC Hosts College/Career Fair for High School Students


ARDMORE, OK-- The Southern Oklahoma Technology Center is hosting a college and career expo. to help get high school students on the right track. 

The event at SOTC off of Sam Noble Parkway in Ardmore had over 20 colleges across Oklahoma and Texas present providing information on enrollment,  financial aid, and what the schools have to offer.

SOTC and the University Center of Southern Oklahoma also had information about course offerings.

Military personnel, tribal nation representatives, and other scholarship providers were available to answer questions.

"I like that it's all in one spot because sometimes it's hard to drive an hour, 2 hours away to see a college or get to know what they're like," Dickson High School Student, Travis Simmons said. 

This is a good opportunity to see what college I might want to go to if I don't really know," Home School Student, Sierra Long said. 

The lasted from 5:00- 7:30, booths were set up in the Business Development Center.

Marketing Coordinator Darla Buck says, last year over 300 people attended.
