Denison mom posts rap video to Facebook, it goes viral

Posted:

DENISON, TX-- A Denison mom is a Facebook star after a video she posted got more than 12 million likes.

This isn't Cali Daniels first rap video with her kids, but it's definitely the one that's getting the most likes. And she said it's even on Ellen DeGeneres's website.

Daniels loves her three children and music, but some lyrics she said aren't good for young ears. So she began writing her own.

"So I like to put a mom spin on it and they enjoy it. They think it's funny," Daniels said.

From eating cupcakes in Downtown Denison to writing music, Daniels said it's just important for her to spend time with her kids.

Daniels said she did her first rap video four months ago, and then friends asked her to do another about what it's like to be a mom.

"I picked a popular song that everybody knows the words to, and I kind of do it sporadically. I didn't start at the beginning. I will think of random things during the day," Daniels explained.

Daniel's post hit Facebook Sunday, and it didn't take long for the world to see it.

When Daniels posted the video she knew she'd get a lot of likes, but never thought it would reach 12 million.

"My favorite would be the part that says put both hands together, talk to God with my babies because we love going to church," Daniels said.

And the song writing won't stop here. Daniels said she’s working on a You Tube channel.
