Sherman Elks Lodge donates money to North Texas Youth Connection

SHERMAN, TX -- Several kids without a home will stay warm this winter, all thanks to the Sherman Elks Lodge.

Young kids to teenagers left Kohl's with bags full of winter clothes as we head into cooler weather.

The Sherman Elks Lodge donated $2,400 to give kids with the North Texas Youth Connection something to smile about.

Organizers say these kids are either homeless or runaways and this shopping spree is something they look forward to.

“It’s going to be a real treat and they are so excited they kept asking us yesterday if we could pick them up from school so they could go shopping so we're for this check,” said Sharon Watson, Executive Director of the North Texas Youth Connection.

This isn't the first time the lodge has donated to the North Texas Youth Connection. They say it's their way to give back and it really warms their heart.

“I just want to make sure they get a new jacket and one winter shirt and some clothes to go with it that way they aren’t cold,” said Ron Engelke with the lodge.
