Southmayd police chase

SOUTHMAYD, TX -- A man is behind bars tonight after leading police on a high speed chase last night.

Christopher Norman was booked into the Grayson County jail.

Southmayd police say an officer clocked Norman on his motorcycle going up to 100 miles per hour.

The chase started on South 289 and ended in Dorchester about 10 miles from where it started.

The Police Chief Chad Mckee says he possibly ran because he was driving with a suspended license.

He says that's a dangerous stretch of road when speeding.

"We've had several bad accidents out there and many of them fatal and motorcycles, it's really dangerous for motorcycles to be going that fast because they don't have four wheels, Southmayd Chief of Police Chad Mckee said."

Gunter police and DPS assisted Southmayd with the car chase.
