Grayson County Commissioners Proclaim September "National Preparedness Month"


GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- In the wake of recent natural disasters, including the devastating flooding in Louisiana, and massive earthquake in Oklahoma,

Grayson County Commissioners Court and the Office of Emergency Management, are urging people to better prepare for emergencies this month.

September is "National Preparedness Month."

The event aims to increase public awareness, about what to do if bad weather hits your area.

On Tuesday, during commissioner’s court County Judge Bill Magers read a proclamation in support of the nation-wide effort.

It's encouraging people to prepare their homes, businesses, and schools.

If you ever find yourself caught in an emergency situation, keeping a preparedness kit in your home or car is recommended.

Along with developing a plan with your family on where to take shelter.
