Local restaurant offers free meal for Sherman Police

SHERMAN, TX--While many people enjoyed a day free from labor, Law enforcement officers didn't take the day off, and were hard at work protecting and serving.

Sherman's Olive Garden tried to make Monday’s holiday a little bit better by providing lunch for the Sherman police department. The restaurant provided pasta, soup, and their famous salad to give the Officers a little holiday boost.

Sherman Police officer Tim Gann says this free meal means the world to the men and women on the force.

“We've been having people come and show us how much they appreciate us, and it's great to see somebody in a business get behind us and also, you know, give us a little token of their appreciation for what we do out here" said Gann.

800 Olive Garden’s nationwide participate in this lunch as well.

Olive Garden says serving local First responders is just their way to say "Thank you" for their labor of love on this holiday.

This is the 15th year in a row Olive garden has put this on.
