Man Sentenced to Prison After Urinating on Jailer

Posted:

SHERMAN, TX -- A Grayson County man has been sentenced to prison, after he was caught on camera urinating on a jailer.

Court records show 47-year-old Ricky Hughes of Sherman will spend the next 7-years behind bars, and pay over $3,000 dollars in fines.

Hughes was already in jail on an assault charge, when he decided to relieve himself on a jailer.

We've decided not to show the video of the incident, instead this is right after, when the jailer took Hughes down to the floor.

Prosecutors say this happened last year June.

"Obviously our community can't put up with this, our jailers work hard, our jailers wash their clothes, take care of their wounds, feed them meals, nobody deserves to be treated like that, and i think the jury here made a pretty good statement with that," said Grayson County Assistant District Attorney, Britton Brooks.

Hughes has spent time in prison before on aggravated assault and drug possession convictions.

That was delaying treatment times by at least an hour and a half. So ninety minutes extra time where the brain was starved of oxygen leads to poorer outcomes."...More >>
