Amber Alert canceled; Suspect still wanted for kidnapping baby

PONTOTOC COUNTY, OK – An Amber Alert has been canceled, the baby was found safe but authorities are still looking for the suspect.

Santiago Ruiz is accused of abducting a 14-day-old baby Monday night. The baby is now in protective custody.

Authorities say he became violent and threw the baby’s mother out of a vehicle. They say he made threats to kill himself and the child. They believe he was under the influence of narcotics at the time.

It happened three miles east of Ada around 5 p.m. on Monday.

Ruiz, 33, is described as an Hispanic man, about 200 lbs with brown eyes, long dark hair. He was last seen wearing a brown shirt with sleeves cut off and shorts. He has a tattoo of word “outlaw” on left leg and several tattoos on both arms.

He may be driving a white Chevrolet pickup truck with the license plate number 016011.
