Boy Scouts help keep Denison's history alive

DENISON, TX-- Texoma boy scouts had the chance to today to learn a little bit more about the history of downtown Denison while also helping preserve it's history.

Denison boy scouts from troop 605 helped with the Chestnut Street Project.

Main Street Director, Donna Dow, said the city is redoing four blocks of the street with concrete. But she said in order to keep downtown history alive these bricks will be at each intersection.

While the boy scouts worked hard in the warm weather today, their scout master said it's important they learn who's come before them in Denison.

"The boys are walking down history, and learning about some of things about where these bricks have been and what's walked and driven on these bricks. And why its important to preserve history here in Denison," Scout Master Paul Kisel said.

If you'd like to help clean these historic bricks, come out September 9th and 10th and they'll be plenty for everyone.
