CHOCTAW COUNTY, OK- The National Weather Service in Tulsa says tornado damage from at least an EF 2 tornado struck near Boswell.

Winds up to 135 miles hour tore through 2 miles south of downtown Boswell, leaving several families heartbroken for what they've lost, but thankful to be alive.

"It's hard to start over again but we can do it," said Sue Jones.

21 homes damaged or destroyed after a tornado barreled through leaving homes like this one unrecognizable.

"This was a beautiful place. Very pretty. We had a front porch that wrapped around. We'd sit out there. My husband used to love sitting out. You could see the cattle in the pasture and stuff. It's pretty sad," said Jones.

Sue Jones and her husband were in an underground shelter at their daughter in laws. Once the storm passed they rushed to see if their home was still there.

"There was big trees across the road, and we had to crawl through them because of the  wires everywhere," said Jones.

She and her husband walked one mile to get to where their home once stood and to find most of the brick walls broken down.

"When we made that turn down there we saw it gone," said Jones.

Boswell Police say two people were injured after a mobile home was thrown by the storm. Both have broken bones. Down the road another mobile home destroyed.

"Everything is lost," said Joes Rubio.

For 35 years José Rubio lived in this very home. He said if it wasn't for his friends he would have been inside when the tornado ripped through.

"If it was not for my friends, I probably would not be here talking. They came by and they helped me. They are good friends," said Rubio.

The clean up and rebuilding process is only beginning and for those hit hardest, they say Boswell is home.

"I'm not going to go nowhere, it's home," said Rubio.

Looking at what is left and saving what they can, Jones says the blessing is the gift to be alive another day.

"We're lucky to be alive. Just lucky," said Jones.

The city of Hugo also saw some damage along the main part of down. Several businesses damaged with busted out windows and parts of their building ripped off.

Power crews say 45 customers in Choctaw County are still without power and hope to have it restored by tomorrow.

The Boswell Community Center will be feeding those affected for the next couple of days.
