Southeastern's Grimsley named GAC Player of the Week
DURANT, Okla. (SE) – Southestern outfielder Brandon Grimsley has been named the Great American Conference Player of the Week following his three-home run weekend performance that helped lift the Savage Storm to a GAC Tournament berth by taking two out of three from rival East Central.
Grimsley had a grand slam and a three-run homer in the team's 15-11 series opening win over the Tigers and added another home run in the 12-6 victory in game two which cemented the postseason trip for SE.
For the weekend he hit .385, hitting safely in each of the three games of the series.
Grimsley also finished with three home runs out of his five hits, eight RBI for the weekend, including seven in the series-opening win, and in the process slugged 1.077.
The Storm will open play in the GAC Tournament in Enid, Okla., on May 2 with a noon matchup against Southern Arkansas.
