Today after their spring game, the Southeastern Savage Storm held theirs. The coaching staff says that they typically have 30 to 60 athletes try out but usually only one will make the team. On Saturday, KTEN Sports Reporter Jessica Morrey tried to be that one.
After going through the warm up and participating in ladder drills, Jessica got to show off her skills as a wide receiver.
She caught a majority of the balls that were thrown her way and Southeastern's wide receivers coach, Payton Werner, said that she had solid hands.
After the tryout was complete, Southeastern head football coach Bo Atterberry, had positive things to say about Jessica Morrey's performance.
"She had a great effort, great attitude. She got better as the day went on. I was proud of her, she finished well, " Southeastern head football coach Bo Atterberry said.
When asked if he thought Jessica would make the team, Atterberry wasn't too optimistic.
"I think if she really wants to pursue wide receiver, she can probably continue with the highlights from the sideline to get some more tips from some of the players and maybe try it again next year," Atterberry said.
