ADA (ECU) - The 2015 East Central University football scheduled has been released and contains just Great American Conference games, with the addition of Oklahoma Baptist to the league for the 2015-16 season. The schedule also features two Thursday games to open up the season and almost all night game home start times since homecoming is set for the final home game of the season.
The Tigers, who finished the 2014 season 6-5 after playing in their first post-season game since the 1993 season, will open the 2015 season at home Thursday, Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. against Ouachita Baptist. ECU will then travel to battle Henderson State, Thursday, Sept. 10 (7 p.m.) in Arkadelphia, Ark.
The first game against Oklahoma Baptist since 1940 will take place Sept. 26 in Shawnee, Okla. The teams have faced each other 17 times between 1916 and 1940, with the Bison holding an 8-9 advantage. The Tigers will then rotate between home and away games until the final two weeks of the season.
The final home game of the year is set for Saturday, Oct. 31 at 4 p.m. against Arkansas-Monticello for the annual homecoming game at Norris field, which will also double as Senior Day.
The final two games of the year will then be played on the road at Southern Arkansas at Southeastern Oklahoma State. The Great American Classic, presented by Landmark Bank, against the Savage Storm will be Saturday, Nov. 14 in Durant, Okla.
