Denison's Cannon signs with Olivet Nazarene tennis
DENISON, TX -- A star DHS tennis player made his college decision known Friday morning as Jacket senior Tyler Cannon would sign his National Letter of Intent with NAIA powerhouse Olivet Nazarene.
Cannon joins a squad that has made it to the national tournament the last nine years and is ranked 24th overall in the country right now.
He'll double major in economics and sports management and once he's finished hopes to use his education in his hometown.
"Denison is a neat town, there's something about this town that just makes you feel like you're home and I really want to return home one day after I play college tennis and come back here and start a business, maybe like a multisport facility, stuff like that, just get the town involved in tennis and sports, which is what I love in general," Cannon said.
