Pottsboro heads into quarterfinal match-up with Mineola
POTTSBORO, TX -- Saturday afternoon the spot to be will be in Royse City where the Pottsboro Cardinals will have a shot at a region championship.
This is the farthest the flock has flown since 2008 when the Cards would soar to the state semifinals.
The way the bracket looks, this year's bunch has a serious shot at making some noise at the very least.
Mineola will be a tough out, they just beat Pilot Point last week. But looking forward to the 2 p.m. kick, the Cardinals are proud of what they've already accomplished and they obviously still want it all.
"Our goal after we won the district was to play in December and we get to play in December, we're playing December 6th, so that's a good feeling," head coach Matt Poe said.
"We have yet to get any respect from any other teams and I think we'll earn it after we win state," senior center Karson Heady added.
"They look great on film just like every other team, but that's not really who we're worried about, we're worried about ourselves and as long as we do our job, everything should go along," senior receiver and linebacker Christopher De La Cruz concluded.
