GUNTER, TX -- Three more wins for the Gunter Tigers and they're state champions. That seems attainable for a club that's already won a dozen games this season.
The road keeps getting tougher as we've narrowed from 64 teams to just eight.
This week's opposition Waskom is just about as tough as they come, but as the Tigers look to reach the semifinals for the first time in program history, they hope all they've poured in proves to be the difference.
"Focus, a lot of hard work, just everyone paying attention, getting their job done," senior quarterback Austen Gressett said.
"This is the time that you reap what you sow and you get to enjoy those things. So, there's a lot of work that goes into it, there's a lot of preparation but at the same time you've got to sit back and just really enjoy the moment and getting the opportunity to play in the fourth round is something special and it's something that we'll cherish for sure this week," head coach Jake Fieszel added.
