SHERMAN, Texas (AC) – Austin Collegefootball playerMadison Ross has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his outstanding performance against Southwestern, the league office has announced. This is the third straight week a ‘Roo has earned this honor.
Ross, a junior running back from Fort Worth, rushed for a career-high 189 yards on 23 carries, averaging 8.2 yards-per-attempt and scoring three touchdowns to lead the ‘Roos to a 47-29 victory over the Pirates. Ross headed a rushing attack that piled up 316 yards on the ground to help the ‘Roos improve to 5-3 overall and 1-0 in SCAC play. This is the second time this season he's earned this honor.
For the year, Ross is second in the conference with 779 yards and seven touchdowns, and is averaging a league-best 6.2 yards-per-carry.
