OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma investigators are set to release a report on the execution of an inmate who gasped and writhed on a gurney after being injected with three lethal drugs.

Gov. Mary Fallin ordered the investigation into the April 29 execution of Clayton Lockett, who took about 43 minutes to die after the execution began. The state Department of Public Safety intends to release its report Thursday.

Fallin also asked the department to recommend possible changes to the execution procedures.

The state prison's director halted the execution and said Lockett died of a heart attack, but autopsy results later attributed the death to the execution drugs.

Questions have been raised about the sedative midazolam, which was used in Oklahoma, and in executions that went awry in Ohio and Arizona this year.
