Denison Police And Fire Battle It out For Blood

DENISON, TX -- Firefighters and police officers in denison rolled up their sleeves for a good cause Wednesday.

It's all for  the Battle of the Badges blood drive.

     

The two departments were battling it out all day to see who could donate the most blood and help the most people.  

One donation can save up to three lives so every drop counts.  

"The ultimate winner is going to be the blood bank, and the people, the citizens that actually need the blood, the patients that desperately need the blood, and you know in the EMS we see those people all the time," said Asst. Fire Chief Bill Ray.  "We pick them up on car wrecks or we take them to the hospital and they're going to have to have surgeries and stuff, so we know that the importance of having the blood supply."

The winners of Denison's Battle of the Badges will be announced on Thursday.
