Sherman Police Lieutenant Gets A Promotion

SHERMAN, TX -- It was a big day for the Sherman police department...

A long-time member of the department is getting moved up.

Lieutenant Bob Fair was promoted Tuesday to assistant chief of police.

Fair has served with  the Sherman police  force for nearly 35 years.

Four other applicants applied for the position, but Fair stood out from the rest.

He says he knows this new job comes with more responsibility, but he's ready to take on the challenge.

"Just that I look forward to the challenges and I appreciate the opportunity from Chief Henry appointing me.  I'll do the best in my position, and look forward to serving this city and the citizens for a while," Fair Said.

Fair will be in charge of records, courts, dispatch, civilian personnel and also the new administrative commander.
