Troopers Blame Sleepy Driver For Crossing Love Co. Cable Barrier And Hitting Car

LOVE COUNTY, OK-- Troopers say a Kansas man fell asleep while driving on I-35 and crossed the cable barrier near Thackerville.

According to OHP, Jeremy Bell, 29, of Wichita, ran off the road near mile marker 5 around 3 a.m., then went through the median, hitting a northbound car.

Bell was treated and released in Marietta. Passenger Jackeline Ortiz, 22, of Wichita, was freed from the Jaguar with the jaws of life and taken by helicopter to Plano in stable condition with a leg injury.

Two children, ages 5 and 7, and two passengers in the other car were not hurt.

Patricia Harmon, 45, from Bossier City, La., and Kaitlynn Harmon, 19, were treated and released in Ardmore.
