RINGLING, OK -- The Ringling Blue Devils are no strangers to winning. In 2012 they'd bring home theClass A State Title and last season they'd make it back to the championship game where they'd come away with the silver ball.
This year another ball is the goal, preferably another gold one.
"We're real hungry for it, especially being seniors. Our juniors and sophomores, they're hungry too. They're dying to get a ring, we've already got rings as seniors. But we're definitely striving to get another just because we have to make our own legacy as seniors," senior left tackle Riley Daniel said.
Last year's senior class was one of the most successful classes in program history, winning a total of 41 games while only losing ten. They've left some pretty big shoes to fill.
"The seniors and juniors that haven't got to touch the field, well now it's their time. And it's a real exciting time in Ringling. We're replacing a lot of starters on both sides of the ball. I think I know what we have but they still gotta go do it," assistant coach Richie Gandy said.
Even with only a few returning starters, winning is still the name of the game in Ringling.
"They expect to win every time they step on the field. It doesn't matter, where, who, when we're playing, that's what they expect. And after playing in the third round and then in the State finals two years in a row..why wouldn't you expect that?" Gandy asked.
The Blue Devils kick-off the season September 5 against Oklahoma Christian.
