While You Played, I Ran shares authors life in war, struggle of immigrating to America.

ST. LOUIS (PRWEB) August 19, 2014

The Bosnian war forced Sejla Grahovic and her family to leave their war-torn homeland in hopes of a better life in America. Now living in St. Louis, Grahovic wrote While You Played, I Ran (published by Xlibris) to share her experience to the world.

In Bosnia, Grahovic bore witness to the realities of war, the uncertainty, the lingering fear and the privation. It finally came to a point where they decided to emigrate. Moving to America was supposed to bring them to a better life; it did, but it also brought its own kind of challenges. Grahovic found herself in a place where she did not even know the language. It was a struggle to adapt to a different culture, a new way of life. Through it all, she never gave up on her family, her schoolwork or her life. She pushed on and made a life for herself.

In sharing her story, Grahovic sincerely hopes that readers will be inspired to keep fighting for their lives and dreams saying that readers have to believe in themselves and believe that dreams do come true.
