"Empty The Shelter" Event Saturday August 16, 2014

Posted:
– Denison Animal Welfare Group (D.A.W.G.) will host a special “EMPTY THE SHELTER: Back to School with Dogs” themed pet adoption event this Saturday, August 16!  Free to the public, the event will be held in Denison at 2500 West Morton Street from 11am until 3pm.

The “EMPTY THE SHELTER” event will showcase dozens of wonderful dogs who are hoping for just the right folks to adopt them into their families. Thanks to Dr. Cruz and the City of Denison, there will be a DISCOUNT on adoption fees Saturday (8/16/14) ONLY. Now is the time to adopt the dog you have been looking for! There will be lots of fun activities  for all ages,  including the sales of  DAWG t-shirts and other apparel,  hot dogs, and drinks.  There will even be air-conditioned tents in case the forecast is wrong and it feels like a typical August out there!

The dogs that are available for adoption are all from the Denison pound.  Again, ADOPTION FEES ARE DISCOUNTED THIS WEEK.  Dog gift baskets will also be given away with each adoption, courtesy of friends of the Denison Animal Welfare Group and local businesses.  So, come on out, adopt a furry forever friend, and save a pound puppy’s life!

The Denison Animal Welfare Group is a nonprofit charity organization committed to raising awareness within the community regarding the plight and availability of homeless animals at the Denison pound, and to facilitating their adoption into suitable, permanent homes where they will receive the care and attention they deserve.  For more information, contact NATALIE HULSEY at denisonanimals@gmail.com.
