Hundreds Turn Out for Denison's "Meet the Jackets"

DENISON, TX --- It was an exciting day at Denison High School earlier as the Yellow Jackets hosted their annual "Meet the Jackets" night.

The event is usually hosted at Munson Stadium but with renovations still ongoing, they moved it to the gym at the new high school.

Hundreds of community members came out to meet the fall sports teams like football, volleyball and cross country as well as the Stingerettes, the cheerleaders and the Touch of Gold band.

The student athletes say it's wonderful to see such a great turnout from the community.

"It just makes us very motivated because we see all of the support that were getting. And it just motivates us every day, that we see what the community has given and they care about us," Denison senior wide receiver Jamael Chiles said.

"It's really overpowering, it's overwhelming how our community can come together for something like this. We've made so much progress already and I just really want to see it all together," Denison senior volleyball player Harley Goodin said.
