Man Arrested in Connection to Bryan Co. Shooting

Posted:
BRYAN COUNTY, OK -- A man has been taken into custody in connection with a homicide investigation out of Bryan County. Officials say a man was found shot on Sunday night on the  "Little Blue Bridge" in Blue, Oklahoma.

OSBI spokesperson Gary Perkinson says 22 year-old Mark Anthony Neal has been arrested and charged with murder complaint. Investigators have denitrified the victim as Frank Owens, in his early twenties.

Morning morning, the bridge near Old Highway 70 was still marked with caution tape, spots of blood and examiner's gloves. Tire tracks lead from the road to a heavily treed area. Perkinson says the victim's pickup truck was found about two miles from the bridge, burned.

Officers closed the bridge after the incident Sunday and then reopened it Monday and continued to search the wooded area. It's a relatively quiet neighborhood near Old Highway 70, but residents say deputies were out in full force Sunday keeping the area on complete lockdown and searching overhead by helicopter.

Neal is booked in the Bryan County Jail with no bond set yet. No word on a possible motive for Neal, but Perkinson says OSBI and the Sheriff's Office are continuing to investigate.
