Two From AC ’Roo Men’s Hoops Named to NABC Honors Court
SHERMAN, Texas – Two members of the Austin College men’s basketball program have been selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court, the organization has announced. Austin Brewster and Alvin Michael were two of 19 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s basketball players to earn this honor.
To be eligible for the Honors Court, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior with a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.2 or higher. Players are selected from all NCAA divisions and the NAIA. Brewster graduated in May, while Michael will be a senior during the 2014-2015 academic year.
Austin College is one of just three Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference schools to have student-athletes named to the Honors Court, along with Trinity and Southwestern. A record 895 student-athletes were named to the Honors Court, with 335 schools represented nationally.
Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
