ARDMORE, OK -- Police say a woman's body was discovered this evening in a car outside a Carter County gas station.

It happened at the Shell station at the intersection of Rockford and Broadway.

The woman was identified as Tammy Mitchell, 47, of Healdton, police Sgt. Bobby Moore said.

Moore says the car had been parked there since 8 a.m. Friday, when Mitchell dropped a man off at the Greyhound bus stop.

Police say the man says when he got on the bus, she was coherent.

Police say the death doesn't appear to be suspicious at this time, but the body is being taken to Oklahoma City for an autopsy.
