ARDMORE, OK -- An Ardmore man was arrested Thursday after police say he was holding a woman against her will and abusing her.

Officers say 50-year old Mario Cruz of Ardmore had been keeping a female acquaintance at his home since June 15.

Friday, the district attorney's office says Cruz is charged with domestic assault and battery by strangulation, kidnapping, and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Sergeant Bob Moore says police arrested Cruz Thursday around 1:30 on the 600 block of A street northeast.

Police say Cruz was wanted on a felony warrant out of Texas for domestic abuse by strangulation and for a similar warrant in Carter County for domestic abuse and stalking.

He's being held in the Carter County jail on a $100,000 bond. He's scheduled to appear in court at the end of July.
