BRYAN COUNTY, OK -- People in Bryan County where hard at work  hoping to save some lives.

The Oklahoma Blood Institute hosted the 7th annual blood drive between the city of Durant and Bryan County.

People who donated blood had to cast a vote for either the city, or the county.  Organizers say the county won by a few votes but when they have the record turn out like they did today, everyone wins.

We actually have a blood drive tomorrow, at Walgreens in Durant from 8:45 to 11:30, and then we also have a blood drive here in Durant at Always Better Care Home Health from 1:30 to 5:30 tomorrow," said Michelle Mcguire, Oklahoma Blood Institute.

Organizers say they had 141 people come out to the drive and they collected 105 pints of blood which could potentially save 345 lives.  All blood donated stays local.
