Southeastern rodeo wraps up at the College National Finals
CASPER, Wyo. - A little bad luck be felled Southeastern's Lacey Kessler and Ethan Fox at the College National Finals Rodeo where both ropers missed out on qualifying for the short go in their respective events.
Kessler opened her run at the CNFR in the breakaway with a 4.5 in her first calf which put her in 20th place out of the 52 ropers in the event.
However, she had an illegal catch on her second calf which took her out of qualifying for the short go.
She did finish strong in her third run with a 3.3 on her final calf which was good for 13th in the round, and a 23rd place finish overall.
Fox and his team roping partner Chase Boekhaus from Northwestern Oklahoma State were bitten by bad luck even worse, first opening their trip to the CNFR after winning the Central Plains region by missing their first steer which essentially eliminated them from the short go.
The bad luck continued on their second steer where Fox had an illegal catch, and finished out with a miss on their final run which garnered them their third no time.
