Transitional Living Home And Car Wash On Sherman Council Agenda

Posted:
SHERMAN, TX --  Zoning is already approved for a new transitional living facility. Now, that issue will go before Sherman City Council tonight.

The House of Eli would be located in the 100 block of S. Ricketts St.

Nine young men would be housed there, with some coming from incarceration and others "aging out" of foster care.

Last month, we talked to the director who says they want to provide the boys with a structured and nurturing environment.

"They're only going to be here a year, and then we're going to have new kids rotating in and out, so we need every minute with them, to do all the re-training that we know they need to change the direction of their lives," says executive director Tawni Hodge.

The project is funded by private donations, and they hope to have the house open by the end of the year.

Also during the meeting, council will consider an express car wash that would be located on a strip of land in the 4300 block of north Highway 75, near the southbound exit from 75 to Sherman Town Center.
