SHERMAN, TX -- People in Sherman could get a new place to buy groceries, as plans are submitted for a new grocery store operated by a big box store.

The Planning and Zoning Commission will consider site plan approval on Tuesday for a Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market and gas station.

It would be located at the northwest corner of F.M. 1417 and Lamberth.

They are asking to have two 83-foot signs instead of just one 65-foot sign that would normally be permitted.

According to the agenda, the property is owned by the Baptist General Convention of Texas.

They are requesting to have it approved for commercial development.  The meeting is at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at City Hall.
