A local Texoma police officer continues to face serious health issues after being diagnosed with a very serious disease. Now, it's time for our caring Texoma community to step in and help out this officer and his family!

Clayton Yarbrough, a police officer for the city of Durant and the Choctaw Nation, was diagnosed late last year with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Medical expenses continue to pile up for the family due to various treatments and hospital visits among other things, but now the Texoma community can help support the family in a big way!

On Friday, June 13th, a huge fundraiser will be held in the parking lot behind Billy Sim's BBQ in Durant from 12-7 PM. There will be numerous activities including a big silent auction, a bake sale, garage sale, money machine, food and vendors, and even a bounce house for the kids! There will also be a blood drive during the fundraiser as well to help benefit Officer Yarbrough and others who are in need of blood. In addition to all of this, special bracelets will also be on sale during the fundraiser. All the proceeds from this big event go to Officer Yarbrough and his family to help support them during his battle with cancer!

Lisa McAdoo is the organizer of this wonderful event, and she stopped by KTEN News Midday to talk about how you can help Officer Yarbrough through this fundraiser.
