SHERMAN -- Results are in for Fridays battle of the badges blood drive in Sherman.

Every year Sherman's fire and police departments battle it out to see who can bring in the most blood donations. This year went to the fire department. They

won by just 5 votes. The blood center says they had 173 people come in to donate and they collected 137 pints of blood.

"Well the trophy's back where it belongs, on our side of the street, seriously this is a great opportunity for all the people in the Texoma region, this is our

opportunity to have a little fun, battle with the police department, and we call it the trophy, but it really is about the citizens that we serve, and the Texoma

regional blood center serve them everyday"

One pint of blood can save up to 3 lives. The center says they will be able to help 411 people with the blood from the drive.
