GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- Scary moments this afternoon when troopers say a Pottsboro man fell asleep while driving, then crashed through a fence.

It happened around 4 p.m. on F.M. 1417 near High View Drive, just south of the Caterpillar plant. According to DPS, Robert Jackson, 57, was heading north, when he drifted off and lost control.

One woman says she was in front of him and saw the whole thing happening in her rear-view mirror.

"He said he must have fell asleep because I asked him if he blacked out or fell asleep and he didn't know what had happened," says witness Angela Phillips. "He didn't know that he ran through the fence. He didn't know that he hit the fence. He didn't know nothing until I told him his car was messed up."

Jackson's truck was badly damaged but he told us he was not hurt. The truck went through a pipe fence. Jackson found a sign and called the posted owner of the property out of Oklahoma.
