GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- When you leave your children in care of a babysitter, you expect them to be safe, but deputies say one woman actually lost the kids she was supposed to be watching.

Megan Lamb, 22, of Denison, was indicted by a grand jury on a charge of abandoning or endangering a child through criminal negligence.

A deputy was called to the 1600 block of Richerson Road in March, and found a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old wandering down the street, according to court documents. It turned out they were supposed to be at a house on Coe Road.

When the deputy asked Lamb where the kids were, she told him they were in the living room taking a nap. That's when he informed her they were actually in the back seat of his patrol car, deputies said.  Lamb is out of jail on a $7,500 bond.
