WASHINGTON, DC -- Thursday, a Grayson County deputy killed in the line of duty had his name dedicated on a memorial in Washington DC.

Deputy Chad Key is one of 286 new names inscribed in the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial this year.

His wife and Lieutenant Rickey Wheeler Thursday's ceremony at the Capitol.

Deputy Key was killed in April 2013 when he was hit by a drunk driver while directing traffic east of Sherman.

Flags in Grayson County were lowered to half-staff in honor of National Peace Officers Memorial Day.

Tonight, a memorial was also held at Market Square in Durant to honor fallen officers in Bryan County.
