LAKE MURRAY, OK -- The search  for a missing Carter County woman is over.

Deputies say it lasted about three hours as authorities searched for her on land and on the water at Lake Murray State Park.

Carter County Sheriff Milton Anthony says the 53-year old woman's body was found around 1:30 in a wooded area about a quarter mile from the Martin's Landing campsite.

Crews from several agencies worked together in the search.

Deputies say the woman's family reported that she'd been missing for several days.

"A family member had contacted state parks," said Sheriff Anthony. "The vehicle was found that the victim was driving. She'd apparently been missing for a couple of days."

The sheriff says there's strong indication the woman may have committed suicide.

He says park rangers found a note in her vehicle.

Her body was sent to the medical examiner's officer to try and find out how she died.
