CALERA, OK -- The Calera Lady Dawgs are heading to Shawnee. They're the first CHS girls team in any sports to clinch a state tournament berth.
This afternoon they'd get a giant send off from the community as they hope to take care of business tomorrow.
Even though they've already gone farther than any other Lady Dawg team has ever gone, they still have unfinished business to attend to.
"It feels great to know that, like, people will be remembering this for years to come because we're the first team who's ever done it," senior short stop Taylor Pickett said.
"I mean if you're not after a state championship, then I don't really know what you're in it for. I mean that's the really exciting part. We're up there so we've got a chance. You know, somebody's coming home with it tomorrow and I hope that we can do it," head coach Randy Ellevold added.
They'll play Davis in quarterfinal action at 11:30 a.m.
