TMC receives Overall Quality Award from parent company

DENISON -- For the second year in a row, Texoma Medical Center has taken home the award for overall quality by its parent company.

Monday, the hospital held a ceremony to recognize the staff's accomplishment.

Universal Health Services manages 25 acute care hospitals, like TMC, nationwide.

"I think it's important for consumers to know because it's another distinction that is bestowed on a facility that is a testament to the quality that's provided to the patients when they come into the facility for health care," UHS regional VP Frank Lopez said.

The award recognizes TMC as having the best quality of care based on guidelines set by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

"It is a team effort from all of our staff. The physicians, the employees, the volunteers, the board members, everyone here works extremely hard as a team," hospital CEO Ron Seal said.

Seal says its overall quality is keeping up with its growth.

TMC opened its seventh floor last year and plans to begin work on its eighth floor later this year.
